Advice for Dealing With Vendors

Dear Kind Customer:

I realize that you are up against a time crunch. You need several layers of updates to your software in order to be compliant with the CMS Medicare Billing requirements. Yes, 01 January 2012 rapidly approaches, and in an economy such as the one we face today, every dollar is important. I certainly don't wish to hamper your Accounts Receivable numbers by delaying your ability to collect on the bills you send your customers.


You've known that this software upgrade would be necessary for about 11 months, roughly. Ergo, I shall not feel bad for you when I tell you that no, you will NOT be getting it done before December 31st. First, your hardware won't handle the upgrade, so you will need two new servers, updated Windows and SQL software, and so forth. Second, however, and most importantly, our guys have been beaten and battered and are road weary, and none of us are keen on traveling on Christmas Day just to bail you out of your excessive case of procrastination.
As I've heard it said before: A failure to plan on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
