Rescuer turned into rescuee

Police said an EMS worker was attacked and robbed while in an ambulance at the
Bullitt County Fairgrounds last weekend. Now, police are seeking two men in
connection with the crime.
Investigators said the two may have followed the ambulance to an EMS standby station and waited before forcing their way into the ambulance that was sitting outside.
The rest is here.

Sadly, this sort of thing doesn't surprise me. EMS often deals with patients who are mentally ill, under the influence, or just suffering from chronic assholeitis. Such folks are prone to fighting, and you have to keep your guard up. I don't know about the law in Kentucky, but in Georiga assault on an emergency worker is a felony. And rightly so.

Update: Similar case in Pennsylvania.
